When worn traditionally, Japanese kimonos are designed to be pulled & tucked up between 5-10 inches at the waist. If you plan to wear yours in a more everyday style (as our brand portrays) please note that you may need alterations before wearing. When taken to a seamstress, length options depend on your preference - keep it long, mid-shin, thigh length, or anything in between! Haori usually lay between mid-thigh and the knees. It is possible to have them altered shorter to fit you exactly as you would like. Most of our haori & kimono are around 40-55 inches around the waist area. If you would like specific measurements for a garment, please send us an email at:
